How to create a master pass

Create your master passes in minutes.

Updated over a year ago

A master pass serves as a template that defines the theme and core attributes for all passes generated from it. When creating a campaign, the master pass is used to ensure consistency across offer passes.

Step 1 - Define your master pass

  1. Select 'master passes' from the menu on the left.

  2. Select 'create new master pass' in the top right.

  3. Passcloud Studio will open where you need to choose an offer type (offer types explained)

  4. Give your master pass a meaningful name (25 characters).

  5. Choose the settings for your master pass so it can be used by the appropriate regions, teams, categories and sales channels when you create future offer passes.

  6. Click 'save' to begin editing the theme and details of your master pass.

Step 2 - Editing your master pass

With the settings out of the way, now you can get creative!

πŸ’‘ Keep an eye on the yellow and green indicators to understand what tasks are complete 🟒 and what tasks are remaining 🟑

Here you can preview the master pass for Apple and Google wallet, add languages beyond your default language, and begin theming and adding the details that will be common to every offer pass that uses the master.

  1. Make sure your master pass has the languages you want for future offers.

  2. Use the accordion menu on the right to begin adjusting the theme (see specs).

  3. Add the details you want to appear on the back of the pass (see specs).

πŸ’‘ Click on the flags to switch between languages. The theme, including the logo and colors remain the same.

Create the desired look of your master pass by selecting 'theme'. The accordion menu will open so that you can add the logos for Apple and Google Wallet, the icon for notifications, and colors for your text and background.
